Applying Mineral Foundation

Mineral makeup is very popular these days because it offers women of every skin type and shade, the chance to have natural looking beauty. However, it is essential that you learn how to apply this type of makeup properly or you may not get the look that you want.

No matter what brand of mineral makeup you buy, the following tips should help to ensure that it is applied properly:

When it comes to applying mineral foundation, it is best to apply it with a kabuki brush and it is usually buffed into the skin in layers for the best look. Kabuki brushes have densely packed bristles which will give you a better cover of makeup. It is possible to buy mineral makeup packs that will include these brushes as well as the makeup.

To ensure you are applying your mineral foundation properly, you will have to swirl the makeup brush into the foundation and then tap the brush so that excess makeup is removed. You can then use circular buffing or downward motions to brush the makeup into your face.

A lot of people will choose to use a fluffy brush instead because this allows them to get more value from their makeup. You can get away with a tiny amount of makeup when you use a fluffy makeup brush but you will still get amazing coverage.

Some people prefer to apply wet makeup and this is still possible with mineral foundation. All you have to do to get a creamy liquid from your powder is mix it with water or your moisturiser. Downward strokes can then be used to apply it. If you would prefer to use a sponge, then you simply have to dampen the sponge and then dip it in the mineral makeup before applying it to the skin in downward motions.
